God When?

Ever came across someone with the life you’ve always desired and then you abruptly uttered the words, ‘God when?’ Totally understandable because chances are you never prayed to encounter your shortcomings. However, there could also be something else in your life that you prayed for that is manifesting beautifully today. So why do you choose to not focus on the widened petals?

Now just imagine that you just made someone’s wildest dream come true. Few days later, this person begins to lament about another dream that haven’t manifested yet. Wouldn’t you grow livid upon noticing the act of ungratefulness? In the same light, God finds glory when we show immense gratitude over the seemingly little we have been given today. Fam, there’s no doubt that when you drink to the bottom of your cup, you will certainly meet dregs. However, what’s promising is that when we display gratitude even in these lowest moments, God fills our cups to dilute the shortcomings.

There’s quite a fascinating story about a newly-wed couple. Each day after work, the husband would step out of their car to open the door for his wife. Ever amazed, the neighboring wives would always gossip about how fortunate the lady was. Some went as far as giving their husbands silent treatments, which eventually triggered issues in their marriages. On one evening, the wife decided to drive on their way home. Mouths opened wide when she got down and opened the door for her husband. It didn’t take long for the neighbors to realize that the passenger door had always been faulty and could only be operated from the outside.

You see, in moments we focus on the external blessings of others, our attitude may attract unnecessary problems into our lives. It’s so important we realize that our clouds may only be dark today because there’s a heavy rain of blessings approaching. What we choose to plant in the darkness of our soils will dictate the vastness of our miracles. As believers, one of the worst actions we can take is to question God’s timing publicly. Because after all, what right do we have to encourage others to trust His process when He revisits the neighborhood?
