The Redirection

As we discussed our spiritual growth over dinner in Kigali, I opened up about my challenge with a personal project. Strangely enough, the vision had kept evolving over months. No matter how much I strived to stay on course, it just seemed unfeasible. My friend and I only realized that there was a lady eavesdropping on our conversation when she randomly interrupted our flow by asking, “Do you think life is spiritual?” We both nodded. She then continued, “That redirection is your way back home.”

In that perplexing moment, her statement seemed half-baked. Partially because I’ve always found it difficult to define the concept home. Is home a physical place? Or is it within the hearts of the people we call family, friends, or lovers? However, as I later reflected, the pieces gravitated together. Home is the intentional journey back to your childhood because this was precisely when your spirit was at its purest. Once you can reconnect with what made you feel most alive back then, you’ve taken a bold step towards becoming whom you’ve been called to be.

Let me confess. The reason I was fighting the redirection was because I couldn’t envision a clear path to monetization. However, she must have read my thoughts when she concluded by saying, “You just cannot be a true Christian and be poor.” You see, there are very simple principles that most believers overlook- giving, expressing gratitude, demonstrating faith, amongst others. It’s no wonder why you may observe a non-believer thriving and yet has never stepped foot in the House of God. Fam, it’s no secret- when we can learn to activate the simple principles that draws out our truest humanity, the financial blessings we pray for manifest in ways that will always leave us baffled.

It’s about time you stop questioning the redirection only because you cannot see clearly your desired outcome. Ever wondered how Solomon decided to charge taxes from the traders who entered his Kingdom, and yet David and Saul never explored the same opportunity? It’s not about leveraging the same blueprint that worked for others. It’s about trusting the Spirit to lead you to your supernatural abundance.
